Terry Lawless managed Frank well overall..actually cared about his lads.
Tim Wetherspoon took him to school.. Mike Tyson was way beyond Frank.. no shame in that. RIP George

Seeing as I was in the satellite TV industry in '86 I had a dirty great 1.2m dish on the back of my house. Not many of those around then. So it was a full house for the fight that night. After a session in the local we just had time for a pre-fight ruby. By the way, it was snowing heavily that night.
All I remember of the fight was that Frank made a decent start but soon realised he was up against a fucking gorilla and went into reverse.

Sold 7.12 Second fight Bruno's missus was strutting around Vegas giving it the biggun about what Frank was gonna do to tyson , showing herself and him up . Didn't know about the retina though so explains a lot.

Can remember we were on holiday and listened to a bit of it on the radio when we got back from a night out absolutely battered. Thought Bruno won it until we realised the next day that we were so pissed that we didn't realise it was a recording of a previous fight that was pre the real thing!
Bruno's problem in his defeats was I can't remember him hitting the canvas., He just stood on the ropes and was an easy target so never regrouped. Glad he won the World Title though and hopefully seems to be dealing with his demons.

Bruno shit himself both fights, you could see the shock on his face when he had a bit of success in the first a bit like ā fucking hell, I might have a chance here ā
Then Tyson just ironed him out

Surge.... should not have fought it... quacks tried to pull the plug at the eleventh hour but Bruno convinced them... detached retina... said in the doc it played on his mind in fight 2...
Trunds.... IIRC 2nd fight was PPV on BSKYB... 1st fight was cable and relayed into theatres

First fight Bruno had a proper go and certainly gave it his best shot, second fight he didn't wanna be there you could see his bottle had gone on the way to the ring

Seeing as the 5 most viewed PPV fights happened after it, then I guess so?

Yep those were the days.
Boxing pretty much ended after that. Does anyone still watch it?

Used to go to The Odeon Leicester Square for the big transatlatic fights, early hours start, but think I saw their second fight at The Odeon, Gants Hill. Thought Bruno had Tyson going early on, first or second round.
